VAR: A recycling center at work

In the Netherlands, private owned company VAR operates a Recycling Center near the cities of Apeldoorn and Deventer. Here, on an area of approximately 75 hectares, several recycling installations are available: a landfill, a crusher for construction & demolition waste (c&d), a sorting installation and a composting facility. Over 1.300.000 tons of waste are being processed here every year, of which at least 88% is being recycled! The final aim, of course, is to eventually reduce the residue to 0%!
